Protein Power Balls

Protein Power Balls

Perfect for a mid-afternoon snack....

Packed full of protein from the nuts, and chia seeds these bites are great for a post work-out snack or simply for a snack on the go.

Add in different combinations and coat in coconut/cacao or even matcha for an extra health kick! They’re so easy to make and modify to your own taste!

*note this is made with a small food processor – double the amounts with a standard sized processor

Method

  1. Simply place the ingredients into a blender (setting aside some desiccated coconut to finish). Blitz till the ingredients are in a consistency like play-doh.
  2. Then mould into balls and finally roll in the desiccated coconut and set aside.
  3. Refrigerate for a couple of hours.

These can be left for a few days in the fridge – if you’re lucky!!!

Shopping List

  • 1 x tbsp. Coconut Oil
  • 5 x Dates
  • 10 x Almonds
  • 10 x Cashews
  • 2 x tbsp. Desiccated coconut (keep some aside to decorate)
  • 1 x tbsp. Chia seeds – can add in alternate like linseeds etc

Additions:

  • Cacao powder/nibs
  • Maca powder

Benefits

These balls hit a powerful punch with the coconut oil for antibacterial and anti-microbial properties whilst the combination of the natural sugar in the dates and the protein from the nuts make them the perfect snack to balance the blood sugar and keep you energised till your next meal.
